A moment of calm

The fast pace of modern life becomes stressful sometimes.

You may like to enjoy a moment of calm right now, so you can infuse your day with freshness and ease.

This simple mindfulness exercise, inspired by the practice of Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh, can soothe your nervous system, nourish your emotions and release tension:

As you read the following phrase inwardly, you may simply breathe in slowly with the first line, and breathe out deeply with the second line. As you smile warmly, you can generate a feeling of self-appreciation:

"Breathing in, I am aware of my heart. Breathing out, I smile warmly to my heart."

You may like to place a hand on your heart as you do this practice. You can also simplify the phrase to:

"In, aware of my heart,

Out, smiling warmly."
